Seven Rajan gang members arrested in Lucknow

The Lucknow district police have arrested seven members of the Chhota Rajan gang who were allegedly conspiring to eliminate mafia don Brijesh Singh and a former Shiv Sena leader Pawan Pandey.

Senior Superintendent of Police B B Bakshi on Wednesday said police raided a house in Vikas Nagar and other localities in Lucknow on Tuesday evening and arrested the seven.

Associates of notorious criminal Babloo Srivastava, the seven were conspiring to abduct some prominent businessmen in Lucknow and Kanpur for ransom, Bakshi said.

Gang leader Krishna Shanker Wakade, a resident of Bombay, confessed that they were involved in several criminal acts in Uttar Pradesh. He said they were planning to eliminate Brijesh Singh and Sena leader Pawan Pandey.

Other members of the gang were identified as Manish Boleski, Authur Cocker, Sarvesh Kumar, Laeeq, Allem Khan and Sanjay Gupta.

After they were produced in a court in Lucknow, they would be taken to Bombay for further investigation, police said.
