Emirates flight makes emergency landing at Hyderabad

Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad

An Emirates Airlines flight on its way from Bangkok to Dubai made an emergency landing at the Hyderabad airport in the early hours of Thursday after it developed a technical snag.

Nothing untoward happened and all the 362 passengers and crew members were safe.

Officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport said that the Dubai-bound Emirates flight took off from Bangkok around 1.25 am (Thailand time) and developed a technical snag when it was flying over Indian territory.

The Boeing 777 was diverted to make an emergency landing at 3.30 am (IST).

The stranded passengers were accommodated in the city hotels and later sent to Dubai.
