Ajit Singh gets agriculture,
Omar shifted to external affairs

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Sunday effected a minor reshuffle of portfolios in the Union Council of Ministers following induction of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Ajit Singh who has been appointed Agriculture Minister.

Nitish Kumar who held the agriculture ministry as additional charge, has now been left with only the railway ministry, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Omar Abdullah has been shifted to external affairs and Minister of State for Railways Digvijay Singh will now look after Commerce and Industry.

Minister of State for External Affairs U Krishnamraju will now be the MoS for Defence, it said.
