A multi-crore land scam involving at least Rs 90 crore (Rs 900 million) and more 40 hectares of land was unearthed in Budgam district of central Kashmir, an official spokesman said in Srinagar on Friday.
The state government has ordered the suspension of 14 revenue officials and referred the case to the crime branch, he added.
The spokesman said that the revenue officials involved were making illegal entries in the revenue records since 1983 to benefit many private individuals.
He added that this was the sixth land scandal detected in the state since January last year.
