15 killed as truck overturns in Bengal: PTI

Fifteen persons were killed when a sand-laden truck overturned on a bridge on National Highway 34 at Omarpur in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Sunday.

While 13 people, travelling in the truck, died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries at Raghunathganj Government hospital, Murshidabad district SP Rajesh Kumar said in Baharampur.

Five other persons with minor injuries were released from hospital after being administered first-aid, he said.

The truck driver fled after the accident.
