Parliament was adjourned for the day on Wednesday, with a resolute Opposition refusing to yield and called for the government's resignation over the defence deals scam.
Earlier, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1400 IST while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day over the scam.
Soon after the Lok Sabha met for the day, angry Opposition members rushed to the well of the house shouting slogans against Defence Minister George Fernandes and the government over the alleged defence deals scandal.
As soon as the Lok Sabha commenced for the day, the Opposition members, pointing at Defence Minister George Fernandes, shouted 'chor chor'.
The treasury benches countered the slogans leading to absolute pandemonium in the House.
When Speaker G M C Balayogi failed to pacify the members, he adjourned the House till 1400 hours (IST).
Fernandes, who was in the House, only smiled in response to the allegations against him.
He even urged the treasury benches to remain calm but BJP members not willing to simply listen to the allegations hurled by the Opposition.
In the Rajya Sabha, Chairman Krishna Kant was also forced to adjourn the house for the day when Opposition members rushed to the well of the house shouting slogans against the government and called for its resignation over the defence deals scam.
