Police custody for Anita Sen

Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad

The ninth metropolitan magistrate on Thursday ordered Anita Sen, prime accused in the child adoption racket, to police custody till May 30 to facilitate further investigation.

The magistrate partially allowed the plea of the Crime Investigation Department, which is investigating the child adoption racket, for 15 days' police remand. He allowed only six-day police remand from May 25 to 30.

Meanwhile, Anita Sen, who was lodged in Chanchalguda Women's Jail in the city since her surrender, is reported to be ailing. "She is likely to be hospitalised," sources said on Thursday evening. "She has a history of cardiac ailment and hypertension," the sources added.
