Renewed Pakistani shelling in Hajipeer sector, 4 porters injured

Mukhtar Ahmed in Srinagar

Four porters working with the army were injured by heavy Pakistani shelling in the Hajipeer sector in Uri on Thursday morning, army sources said.

The four porters who received injuries were identified as Arshad Ahmad, Mohammad Maqbool, Mohammad Yaqoob and Fayaz Ahmad.

Two seriously injured porters were rushed to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

The Indian artillery is retaliating to the unprovoked Pakistani shelling, sources added.

On Thursday, one armyman had died and seven others were wounded in the shelling by the Pakistani troops in the same area.
