Defiling of idols causes tension in another Maharashtra town

Desecration of some idols of gods triggered tension in the old city area of Maharashtra's Buldhana district on Thursday night prompting authorities to clamp curfew, police said in Buldhana on Friday.

Enraged over the desecration of some images kept outside houses in Telgu Nagar area of the town, a mob gathered in the area to protest against the act.

"Indefinite curfew has been imposed from 1400 hours (IST) in the area to maintain law and order," senior police officials said adding the situation was tense but under control.
