LeT threatens to launch attacks against India

Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) has threatened to launch suicide attacks against India to 'avenge' Monday night's firing on Pakistani posts on the border.

"Special suicide squads have been asked to carry out attacks against Indian security forces," LeT spokesman Abu Osama said in a statement published by local newspapers on Wednesday.

He said the attacks would be carried out to avenge 'unprovoked attacks against Pakistan'.

The LeT has carried out nearly 50 suicide attacks across Jammu and Kashmir over the past one year inflicting heavy casualties on security forces.

Twelve Pakistani posts were destroyed and twelve militants killed in the attack late on Monday on Pakistan-held territory when the Indian army opened fire to foil an infiltration bid.
