BJP to field at least 70 women in UP assembly polls

The Bhartiya Janata Party on Wednesday said that the party would field at least one woman from every district in Uttar Pradesh during the coming assembly elections.

Clean image, commitment to party policies and winnability are the main criteria for selecting candidates, state unit president Kalraj Misra said in a release in Lucknow.

The performance of all MLAs will be reviewed before giving them tickets, he added.
