Over 25 people feared drowned in Karnataka bus mishap

More than 25 people were feared drowned after a private bus they were travelling in, plunged into Kalkuni tank near Kirgavalu village in Mandya district of Karnataka on Friday evening, police said.

State DGP V V Bhaskar told PTI that four bodies have already been recovered, adding.

Army, home guards, and fire brigade personnel have rushed to the spot for relief and rescue operations.

More than 25 people were travelling in the bus, police said adding the tragedy occurred after the bus driver tried to overtake another vehicle.

The bus was going to T Narishapur in the neighbouring Mysore district from Karigavelu.
