UP minister sacked

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday sacked Minister of State for Tourism Ashok Yadav who had steadfastly opposed the state government's decision to provide reservation to the most backward castes and Dalits.

Announcing Yadav's dismissal at a hurriedly-called press conference in Lucknow, the chief minister said, "No one who opposes the government's social justice policy will be allowed to remain in the Council of Ministers."
