Dilip Kumar rushed to hospital

Dilip Kumar, one of Hindi cinema's most enduring stars, was admitted to the Leelavati Hospital in Bandra, northwest Bombay, late on Wednesday night.

The thespian, whose real name is Yusuf Khan, was rushed to the hospital after he took ill on his way from Pune to Lonavla. He is now reported to be out of danger.

The 78-year-old actor, who suffers from a kidney problem, was diagnosed with an infection of the urinary tract.

Doctors at the hospital were unwilling to divulge details, except to say that he was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
