Grenade attack in Anantnag district,
2 killed

Two pedestrians were killed and nine injured in a grenade attack in Anantnag district of Kashmir on Tuesday, official sources said.

The grenade, hurled by terrorists, was aimed at a patrolling party of the Rashtriya Rifles at Bidder village, the sources said.

However, it missed the target and exploded on the road, they said.

The injured were rushed to hospital where two of them -- Mohammad Ramzan Hajam and Mohammad Ayub Dar -- died, they said.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the terrorists, the sources added.
