Submit security plan for Taj Mahal:
SC to Centre

The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Centre to submit a security plan for the Taj Mahal.

A three-judge bench, comprising Justice M B Shah, Justice Bisheshwar Prasad Singh and Justice H K Sema, issued the direction following the submission of an affidavit by the UP government stating that ill-equipped private security personnel were guarding the monument.

UP government counsel Ajay Aggarwal told the court that the administration had no objection in handing over the security of the Taj Mahal to a central security agency like the Central Industrial Security Force.

Central Pollution Control Board counsel Vijay Panjwani took strong exception to the UP government revealing details of the security arrangement at the world famous monument, especially when terrorists had held threats against it.
