Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday took senior party leaders to task for talking out of turn on 'sensitive national issues.'
At an informal meeting of the party politburo in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Naidu expressed displeasure at conflicting reports appearing in the media about TDP's stand on Gujarat, Ayodhya and other issues.
"This is causing a lot of confusion. I am getting calls from NDA members wanting to know our stand on these issues," he said.
"Only the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party spokesman will speak to the media on national issues or else a press statement would be issued," he said.
The meeting was attended by six of the 11 members of the politburo. A full-fledged politburo meeting will be held on Thursday to discuss the developments in Gujarat and the party's stand on accepting Lok Sabha speaker's post which fell vacant after the death of G M C Balayogi in an accident on March 3.
Naidu, the party sources said, was quite upset over reports in local newspapers that the TDP politburo would discuss Narendra Modi's future at Wednesday's meeting.
