Pilot killed in MiG crash in Karnataka

A Mig-29 crashed in the jungles of Golikoppa in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district on Thursday killing an Indian Air Force pilot, police said.

The aircraft was on a flight from Goa to Karwar in the district when the mishap occurred, they said.

The body of the pilot was charred beyond recognition, a report from Karwar said.

According to a senior police officer the flight recorder has been located and sent to the Karwar Air Force station.
