Hurriyat sources said that a two-member team comprising the present chairman Abdul Gani Bhat and Maulvi Abass Ansari would be 'questioning' Farooq, who returned from Dubai on Monday.
Another senior leader Abdul Gani Lone would also be questioned about the meeting with Sardar Abdul Qayoom, chairman of Pakistan's Kashmir Council, at Sharjah last week.
Lone, presently away in the United States, had reportedly made a statement against foreign mercenaries and also that the Hurriyat was ready for polls if its fairness was guaranteed.
Mirwaiz, who has been named by America's Time magazine as one of 25 outstanding Asians for being the most moderate and pragmatic voice for peace in Jammu and Kashmir, has made it clear that the Sharjah meeting was purely 'coincidental'.
Besides Mirwaiz Farooq, Lone and Qayoom, the Sharjah meeting, which was a three-day affair, was also attended by expatriate Kashmiri leaders like Ghulam Nabi Fai, Ayub Thakur and Nazir Geelani.
Later, Fai, Thakur and Geelani proceeded to Islamabad along with Qayoom to brief Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on the ideas that had emerged at the Sharjah meeting.
