Retired BMC employee wins over
Rs 9 million in lottery

A retired Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation employee, Purushottam Kulkarni, has won the jackpot of the Playwin Sikkim Thunderball lottery, Rajiv Bhattacharya, vice-president (sales) at Playwin, announced on Thursday.

At 69, Kulkarni is the oldest winner of India's first online lottery, he said, adding the jackpot amounted to over Rs 9 million.

Kulkarni bought his Playwin ticket at Dombivili in Maharashtra's Thane district, Bhattacharya told mediapersons in Mumbai on Thursday while introducing the winner.

The lucky numbers were drawn on July 29, he added.
