Five persons were killed and four injured on Thursday morning in an explosion in a chemical factory near Sadasivpet in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. The town is about 90km from Hyderabad.

The explosion, triggered by a chemical reaction inside a boiler at the Everest Chemical Factory, ripped through a portion of the plant, which manufactures raw material for the pharmaceutical industry, police said.
