Three Hyderabad factory workers killed in blast

Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad

Three factory workers were killed in an accidental explosion in an engineering unit at Balanagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the early hours of Monday.

Rangareddy district police said that the explosion occurred around 4.15 am in one of the sections in Hyderabad Engineering Industries, which manufactures a popular brand of ceiling and table fans. A blast occurred in the electric oven of a section due to excessive heat.

Three workers who were at work at the section died in the blast. The victims have been identified as Raj Kumar, Bal Reddy and Venkatesh.
