Thackeray displeased by nephew's remarks

Our Correspondent in Mumbai

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Tuesday expressed displeasure over his nephew Raj Thackeray's statements and said he should not have discussed the party's style of functioning in the media.

This is the first time the Sena chief has expressed public displeasure over his nephew's statements.

Asked if Raj Thackeray would quit the Sena, Thackeray said, "Whoever wants to go can go. But, I know he will not leave the party as he is like a small child for me."

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Thackeray said, "is the only person who has made it big in politics after quitting the Sena. And that too happened with Sharad Pawar's blessings. All the others who left the Sena have failed miserably."

Raj Thackeray expressed displeasure over the manner the party distributed tickets for the state local election. He directed his ire at his cousin Uddhav, who had taken control of the distribution of election tickets, without consulting Raj Thackeray.
