Unidentified gunmen fire at Urdu daily editor in Srinagar

Shahid Rashid, the editor of a local Urdu daily State Reporter, was shot at and critically wounded by unidentified gunmen at Chanpora in Srinagar on Wednesday morning.

Police sources said the gunmen fired several rounds at Rashid.

The editor sustained injuries on his face, shoulder and was rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment.

Police rushed reinforcements to the spot immediately.

In May, a copy editor of an English daily was shot at and critically wounded by unidentified militants.
