Telugu film actress Gazala attempts suicide

An upcoming Telugu film actress Gazala, who attempted suicide late on Sunday night, has been declared out of danger by doctors at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences.

According to Hyderabad police, Gazala, who hails from Mumbai, consumed six to seven sleeping pills at her room at Prashant Kutir guest house at Banjara Hills around 8.45 pm on Sunday after returning from a hectic shooting schedule in Secunderabad for a Telugu movie starring noted actor Rajasekhar opposite her.

She was treated for poisoning at the hospital. The doctors declared her out of danger on Monday evening.

The police have registered a case and taken up investigations.

Gazala began acting in Telugu films an year ago and has acted in three movies so far.

She starred opposite NTR Junior (grandson of late Telugu matinee idol N T Rama Rao) in Student Number One, the Telugu movie that turned out to be the biggest blockbuster in recent years. The film ran for more than 200 days in many theatres all over the state.
