Karnataka ministers resign en masse

In a swift development, all ministers of the two-and-a-half-year-old Congress government in Karnataka on Wednesday resigned to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister S M Krishna.

The moved followed a suggestion by senior minister K H Ranganath during a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

Reconstitution of the ministry is likely to take place on Thursday as Governor V S Rama Devi is expected to arrive after a foreign tour, according to official sources.
