Krishna drops five ministers, inducts nine

Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna dropped five ministers, including four of cabinet rank, and inducted nine members in a major reshuffle of his ministry in Bangalore on Thursday morning.

The ministers dropped were B B Chimmanakatti, A M Hindasgeri, T B Jayachandra and S R Khashappanavar (all Cabinet rank) and minister of state Veerkumar A Patil.

Krishna has inducted three new cabinet ministers and six ministers of state besides elevating minister of state Dr Parameshwara to the cabinet rank.

Those who found berth in the ministry include V S Koujalagi, H M Revanna, Ramalinga Reddy (all cabinet rank), Basavaraj Patil, Vasanth Saliyan, M L Ustad, K N Gaddi, Rajugowda and K B Koliwad (all ministers of state).

The strength of the Krishna ministry has now risen to 48.
