Western Railways Press Note Release

Due to continuous heavy rainfall for the last 3 days, the main line passenger train services on Western Railway have become severely affected. The heavy rainfall has caused major breaches on Virar-Surat section. Between Palghar-Boisar both UP & DN line track is hanging. Both the ballast & soil have been washed out. 2 spans of Arch Bridge No 144 of 40' X 30' spans have fallen causing major dislocation of train services.

The incessant rains have severely affected the passenger train services. All major trains have been rescheduled and are to run via diverted route. Some trains have also been cancelled. The position of trains starting from Bombay Central/Bandra Terminus on 28-06-02 upto 2-07-02 is as follows.

All trains including commuter trains between Dahanu Road-Virar are cancelled.

Besides this, 24 channels of IVRS and 12 lines on 131 are also made available to the public. Regular announcement regarding train position are also being made. For the convenience of the passengers, refunds are being provided at all PRSs with facility for taking refund upto 3 days.

Train services are likely to be restored to normalcy by the 3rd of July 02.
