Rail traffic on mishap route to be restored by Tuesday

The rail traffic between Kheta Sarai and Mehrawa stations on the Lucknow-Varanasi section, where 13 bogies of the Shramjeevi Express derailed on Sunday morning, would be restored by Tuesday morning, railway sources said in Lucknow on Monday.

Three of the derailed bogies had been put back on the track, they said adding rail traffic was being diverted through various routes.

Commissioner Railway Safety (Northern Circle) G C Garg would visit the accident site on May 15 to enquire into the rail tragedy, the sources said.

Meanwhile, repair work was on in full swing, they said.
