Power supply was restored in most parts of suburban Mumbai late on Thursday afternoon.
Power supply to Mumbai and several other parts of Maharashtra was disrupted early in the morning following a technical failure.
Senior Maharashtra State Electricity Board officials said normal supply in the rest of the state was likely to be restored by evening.
They said power had been restored in Bandra, Andheri, Mira Road and Dahisar in Mumbai.
