Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BSP vice-president Mayawati on Saturday announced that her party would support the NDA's candidate for the presidential poll.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Mayawati defended the transfer of state government officials contending that 'it is my right'.
She reeled off a list of priorities for her BSP-BJP-RLD coalition government to 'establish an injustice-free, crime-free, terror-free and development-oriented atmosphere in the state'.
"My government will provide political stability and promote development of society by assimilating all ideologies," she said.
"It will rise above barriers of caste, creed, religion and partisan politics, but special attention will be paid towards dalits, backwards, poor classes of society and religious minorities," the chief minister said.
"Basic facilities in all villages will be improved and the remaining work in 'Ambedkar villages' will be completed on a priority basis," she said referring to her 'pet project'.
"Ongoing programmes will be completed within the stipulated time by ensuring accountability and fixing responsibility at all levels," she said.
Asked about the poor state of law and order in Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister said, "Firm action will be initiated against anti-social, mafia and goonda elements without any discrimination."
