Suicide squad commandant arrested

The Titwala police on Friday arrested the commandant of the privately run 'Hindustan Suicide Squad' at Badlapur in the Thane district of Maharashatra.

The commandant, Sanjeev Atre, led the training of the 29 youths sent to Badlapur recently by the Shiv Sena to form a suicide squad.

The privately run academy has been conducting training camps for the past four years and is run by Col (Retd) Jayant Chitale.

The police, not finding Chitale, arrested Atre under Section 37 of the Mumbai Police Act for storing spears and swords at the academy in Badlapur.
