Uttaranchal BJP expels nine leaders

Uttaranchal Bharatiya Janata Party has expelled nine party leaders for two years for indulging in anti-party activities during the state assembly election in February, party sources said on Friday.

Among those who have been expelled include Uttaranchal BJP women's wing general secretary Usha Negi, they said.

This was decided at the party's high-level meeting held at Haldwani in Nainital district, they said.

The February 14 election saw BJP lose power to the Congress.

Besides Negi, other expelled members are Naththi Singh Rautela, Dayal Singh, Prem Dutt Juyal, Suresh Chandra Sharma, Yashpal Singh, Ram Ratan Singh, Gajendra Singh Tomar and Prem Singh Bisht.
