Voter ID cards mandatory for
Nagaland polls

Voter identity cards have been made compulsory in the assembly election likely to be held in Nagaland next year.

In a circular issued on Friday, state Chief Electoral Officer Lalthara has directed all district electoral officers to intensify the campaign for ID cards.

The circular also directed the DEOs to avail the facility of five digital cameras available in the office of the CEO for this purpose.

The scrutiny of voter's age is to be exercised by the village authorities, or administrative officers, or even the DEOs, the circular said.
