An armed man on Tuesday afternoon entered a building in Marine Drive and shot at and killed a woman.
The immediate reason for the killing was not known.
Bystanders told the police that the assailant escaped from the spot in a taxi.
Police said the incident occurred in Firdaus building and gave the woman's name as Pushpa Bipin Gupta (47).
