The Orissa government effected a minor reshuffle of the police administration by transferring a senior state police official to the central government.
Director of Vigilance Bipin Behari Mishra has been promoted and made Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force.
The state government has appointed Inspector General Gopal Chandra Nanda in place of Mishra.
The state government has also promoted Additional Director General of Police (Training) P K Senapati and appointed him as the director general of Home Guards and fire services.
