Terrorists kill 3, torch houses in Assam

December 03, 2003 10:21 IST

Kuki terrorists burnt to death three Karbi tribals, including a woman, injured another person and set on fire 19 houses in Assam's Karbi-Anglong district on Tuesday night, police sources said in Guwahati on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Menterang village, they said.

The villagers have been moved to a relief camp in Manja, the sources said, adding the area has been cordoned off with the Central Reserve Police Force and army launching a joint operation to nab the terrorists.

Clashes between the Karbis and Kukis have claimed 10 lives since November 29.
