Pak troops disrupt border fencing work in J&K

Pakistani border troops on Monday injured a BSF driver along the international border while opening fire to disrupt the ongoing border fencing work, according to official sources in Jammu.

Pakistan Rangers personnel fired indiscriminately on labourers and officials involved in the border fencing work at Nikowal, Lortana Khurd in the R S Pura sub-sector in Jammu since Sunday night, the sources said.

The BSF driver was shifted to a hospital and is reported to be out of danger, the sources added.

The Rangers fired heavily for over five hours on Sunday night and intermittently on Monday morning.

The Rangers also fired on other border out posts and civilian areas in Samba, Ramgarh and Hiranagar belts of Jammu and Kathua districts, they said adding low intensity shelling was also reported from Bhiwani and Naushera areas of Rajouri.
