June 05, 2003 02:59 IST
The Mumbai Police has identified 11 benami properties of Dawood Ibrahim having a total area of approximately 43,000 square feet in South Mumbai.
The 11 include Temkar Mohalla at Temkar street in Dongri, Mohammed Mansion in Bekar lane in Mazgaon, Umera Engineering Works at Jeerabai lane in Tardeo, Damarvala building in Yakub street, Rajgara mansion in Mandvi, Raunak Afro Hotel in Pakmodia street and Parkar Mansion in Nagpada.
A special court, earlier, had attached Sara and Sahara shopping complexes.
The police, according to crime branch sources, is all set to arrest three more persons allegedly involved in the multicrore real estate deals of the benami properties.
They will be arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, the sources added.
The arrest of Dawood's younger brother Iqbal Hassan Kaskar, who was deported from Dubai recently, provided evidence of the underworld investment in the real estate, the sources said.
