Pak inconsistent on Kashmir: JKLF
August 02, 2004 16:05 IST
Observing that Pakistan has inconsistent policies on Kashmir, leader of the Pakistan-based Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Amanullah Khan, has said the entry of jehadi groups in Jammu and Kashmir has introduced sectarian differences in the Valley.
Speaking at a meeting in Gilgit in the northern areas on Sunday, Khan said: "Pakistan government has changed its Kashmir policy 12 times since 1947." He said the entry of "outer forces" in Jammu and Kashmir is more sectarian in nature than national. He accused a 'jehadi commander' of torching the Charar-e-Sharif (the shrine of Hazrat Nooruddin Wali) in Kashmir.
The JKLF chief said the motives of these groups are purely sectarian.
JKLF's Gilgit-Baltistan president Zia-ul-Haque said both India and Pakistan should withdraw their civilian and military forces from both sides of Kashmir.
