Landslides block Mumbai-Goa road

Landslides triggered by incessant rains at Sukheki Khind on the Mumbai-Goa road, 55 km from Alibaug, led to the closure of the national highway on Wednesday.

| A car was damaged in one such landslide. However, there were no reports any casualties, police said.
Three persons were rescued from a private bungalow, which was surrounded by flood waters, at village Damote in the district, police said. � Mahad town remained cut off from the rest of the word for the third consecutive day.
The bridge connecting Khopoli-Pali via Gambhulpada�at Gambhulpada was submerged under four to six feet of water from the river Amba. � The road from village Kalamb to Neral was also closed as water is flowing over the Dhiwali bridge.�
