Life imprisonment for Bali bomber

An Indonesian court on Thursday sentenced an accused in the Bali bombing to life imprisonment.

Zaenal Abidin was convicted of helping assemble the bombs, which went off in the Sari Club on October 12, 2002, killing 202 people, mostly foreigners. The court has already convicted and sentenced 29 suspects some of who received the death penalty.

The bombing was an act of revenge for the alleged persecution of Muslims by the United States.
