I will follow court order: Soren

A Correspondent | July 29, 2004 17:20 IST

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, who was asked by the Jharkhand high court on Thursday to surrender before the sub-divisional judicial magistrate in Jamtara before August 2, has said he will follow the court order.

Speaking to NDTV India from "somewhere in the jungles of Jharkhand," Soren said he has full confidence in the country's judicial system.

Soren, who has been in hiding ever since a non-bailable warrant was issued against him in the Chirrudih massacre case of  1975, resigned from the Union Cabinet on July 24.

The JMM chief said the arrest warrant against him was a politically motivated move of the Jharkhand  government. "But I am not afraid. They have dug up a 30-year-old case against me. People of Jharkhand will give a fitting reply to this," he said.
