2 killed in J&K grenade explosion

Two people were killed and 20 injured, four of them seriously, in a hand grenade explosion at Shopian in South Kashmir's Phulwama district, official sources said.

Militants had targeted a passing vehicle of the Rashtriya Rifles. However, it missed the target and exploded on the roadside in the midst of pedestrians and shoppers, they said.

The seriously injured were taken to Srinagar [Images] for specialised treatment.
