In the past year that saw many skeletons come out of the closets of some senior Mumbai police officers, the city's safe-keepers seem to be reaching out to the citizens in this New Year.
Perhaps trying to win back public trust in a novel way, a traffic constable was distributing these cards at a traffic signal in Worli, central Mumbai, on Wednesday morning.
Designed by Dentsu Marcom, the card came as a welcome surprise. Think about it, who would ever expect to get a greeting card from the cops!
This is what the card said:
"We are the shadow that never leaves your side.
We are the shade that hides you from the fire.
We care for you as much as we care for your city.
We are your neighbours and we keep your neighbourhood safe.
We are the men and women of the Mumbai Police.
And we wish you a very happy, safe and prosperous New Year."
