At least 24 people were killed and 30 injured when 13 cars got involved in a collision on an expressway in southern China's Guangdong province, police said in Beijing [Images] on Monday.
The accident took place on an expressway from Kaiping to Yangjiang near the city of Jiangmen on Sunday.
Nine of the injured were in a critical condition, Xinhua news agency reported.
A probe has been launched into the cause of the collision.
