The Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Friday expressed unhappiness over the withdrawal of resignation by Lal Kishenchand Advani as Bharatiya Janata Party chief.

The VHP said he had not apologised for his remarks on Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, and the Babri Masjid demolition during his recent visit to Pakistan.

It added the issue would be discussed at the 'Margdarshak Mandal' meeting of top brass VHP leaders in Amritsar [Images] on June 14 and 15.

VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia said that Advani, by not apologising for his remarks, had 'insulted the country which will never forgive him. The saints of VHP will also not forgive him'.

VHP treasurer Ramnath Mahendra added that his organisation would not accept Advani as BJP chief.

"We will strongly oppose withdrawal of Advani's resignation. We will not accept him anymore," he added.

Mahendra said VHP top brass would also discuss the issue at a four-day meeting from June 27 in Amritsar.
