Pakistan on Saturday proposed to India five points along the Line of Control to enable delivery of aid to quake victims and facilitate meeting of relatives from both sides of Kashmir.

"In pursuance of the proposal made by President Pervez Musharraf [Images] on October 18 to facilitate two-way movement of Kashmiris across the LoC, Pakistan has formally proposed modalities to the Government of India," a Foreign Ministry statement said.

The Pakistani proposal came shortly after India announced opening of three points on its side of Line of Control to provide facilities for medical assistance and relief to the people from across the LoC.        

Pakistan also proposed official-level talks before the end of this month to discuss and finalise modalities for opening points along the LoC, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said.

She said Pakistan had received India's proposal to hold relief camps along the LoC to enable quake victims on both sides to meet each other.

"We just received India's proposal and we are hoping to hold discussions on that. Hopefully something will come of it," she said.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told PTV that he looked forward to the early implementation of the proposal.  

"I hope that the Indian Government will consider our proposal and as soon as we get an answer from them implementation would start," he said.
