For those who have no one, there's Vidyakar

August 14, 2006
Rohini was abandoned by her parents because she was born without hands.

Vatsalya was thrown from a moving train the day she was born by the people who gave birth to her, maybe because she was a girl. One of her legs had to be amputated, and today she has a Jaipur foot and what she loves most is dancing.

Both girls came running from school to tell their Papa the marks they scored in their exam. A smiling Vatsalya hugged Vidyakar tightly and said, "Papa, I am first again."

Rohini hurled herself on him and complained, "She always gets the first rank and I don't."

He held both of them tight like a father. He is their father and mother too.

Eight-year-old Tamanna also has a lot to tell her Papa. With a lovely smile on her face, she said, "I am second in class, Papa. Papa, will you please sit here for a minute? I want to tell you something... Papa, did you have your breakfast?" she asked like a truly concerned daughter.
