Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin in the multi-crore counterfeit stamp paper scandal, continued his confessions to a magistrate on Tuesday.

He began confessing on Monday.

Telgi added 48 pages before Chief Judicial Magistrate D W Modak on Tuesday, but could not complete it.

He will continue recording his statement on Wednesday with respect to three other cases.

The proceedings began at 1100 IST and continued till 1715 IST, taking the total number of pages to 83.

Telgi, who was produced before the CJM on February 3, had expressed his desire to voluntary make the confessional statement, saying that he wanted to expose those involved, including police officers, bureaucrats and even politicians, in the crime.

The confessional statement being recorded 'in-camera' under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedural Code will have to be submitted to the special court of Justice U D Salvi, who had, on January 31, allowed Telgi to record his statement before a magistrate in Pune since he has been confined at the Yerwada Jail.
